Crimson Corsair Game Ideas
Character
The main character won't be given a name but will earn the name or slowly be given the name the crimson corsair. The crimson corsair doesn't have a gender but is seen as and has the physique of a male. He's an alien species covered in red scales, with small black scales. He has a helmet type shell, with small fin-like shapes sticking out of the sides of his head. Looks slightly fish like but mostly resembles a reptilian creature. The character won't be able to talk but shows emotion through his facial expression.
The crimson corsair is created as a soldier to fight in wars. However, the machine that makes the character has been broken down, changing the Crimson Corsair's perception and the reason for being. He's been given free will, and now wants to help people and explore the galaxy. The character's quite brave and is almost always ready to fight, especially if it's to protect someone or something.
The character has a special connection to certain wildlife. He has a few powers, including the ability to swim through certain types of walls. For example, dirt and malleable materials can be moved through. The more solid the material is, the slow he will move through it. For example, metal's hard to traverse through. Throughout the game, the character finds new weapons, but at the start of the game, he's basic weapon is a spear.
Target Audience
The target audience for the game will be people aged around the age of 7 and above. The game has no real gore but has a lot of elements relating to violence. The game, however, can be played by children and adults. The game will be easy to pick up and play, but some moves will be a bit more complicated, which more experienced gamers could get the hang of. There's also going to be a storyline that not be properly picked up on by younger players. Nowadays younger players want a game they can pick up, and get straight into with the action. This game can be slow at parts but the fighting and keeps the screen moving and the player hooked. The character itself has quite a few facial expressions to make it more relatable to the player. But mainly the characters face will be mostly innocent and/or at times even cute. However, in a fight, his face can become more serious and turn to this cool dark stare. The character is relatable, and should seem cool and at points almost legendary, this will also hopefully make the player feel legendary too as they are playing as the character.
Genre
The Genre of my game is going to be a Platform, Action, Adventure game. The game will be 2D, however, the characters will be 3D and there will be a 3D Background. Similar to Mario Bros. There's violence and fighting in the game, however, there's no blood, and the enemies die by blowing up into small balls of smoke.Character

Extra character details
Valos (name of power) The main character is created by the universe or by an unknown power. Many are born this way, and we're used as soldiers. Presumably after a long war, (lost or won) there was no need for these soldiers anymore. However, this one did (the main character). Born with great knowledge (can read and write in many different languages including ancient language spoken by the race. They are born in a room/underground planet. The planet has tests for the soldier you trial to prepare them to be a soldier. However, it has been so long that the facility has been worn down. Leaves aesthetic overgrowth of plant life. The main test has enemies like small robots (this will be used to show the player how to play the game). Character abilities (in order of gaining them (won't have them all from the start)): Swimming through certain walls (not metal, but things like dirt and overgrown parts). Not through enemies either. Can jump, wall jump and sprint or have a fast walking speed. He has an attack similar to smash bros where you click a button and will attack with three hits, each making it more of a combo. For example, a punch, then kick then an uppercut. If hit by an enemy the combo restarts back at the punch. This will be something like rapidly clicking a button which will lock into the enemy. If an enemy floats in the air you can jump and press the attack button which locks you in place (you won't fall) as you repeatedly hit the enemy then fall. Additional possibly add on to physical hits; Valos, a red power that grows the more you hit without being hit. Say you combo multiple enemies without being hit, each hit slowly becomes more powerful with a red light appearing around you and the punch swings. If hit once, however, it resets completely. You slowly find weapons and power-ups in the game too. The weapons will become part of the characters body armour. The character has plates/scales on him. Pressing one makes it pop off and transform into the weapon. Each weapon will hit the 3 combo times (can level up to make longer combo's), however, will also have a special feat, probably used by charging the weapon. The weapons: The spear (colour red). (Two-handed) Jabs forward (has quite a bit of reach). Average weapon. All round power. Glows red when swinging. Can be used in the air. If you hold down the attack button and charge up the weapon you can throw it in a certain direction. However once thrown you have to pick it up before using it again. Side note: could have an energy bar to teleport it back or a timer. The sword (colour green): (Two-Handed) slightly large sword. Has three slow but powerful swings. Decent range (not as far as the spear). If charged up, the sword swings and fires a slashing laser. Similar to Clouds in smash bros. Can be used in the air. Can potentially reflect/block certain attacks from enemies if pressed at the right time (parry?) The shield (colour blue): (one handed) simply a relatively big shield. Can be angled to shield from enemy attacks. Has a health limit. Can only take a certain amount of damage then needs to recharge. Once out of charge it becomes a normal shield (made out of the characters body/shell). Reduces damage but still hurts the character. Holding down the attack button with the shield equipped in the air makes the character smash down with the shield, instantly putting the character into a shielded position but also creating a big blue explosion to hit surrounding enemies. While on the ground with the shield up, you can press the attack button to shunt forward smack enemies in front of you. This will use it's power, however. Although if you hit an enemy, your valor is charged so you don't lose as much if you didn't hit an enemy. Having the shield up doesn't use up the power btw, just if it's taking damage Electric whip? (Color: yellow): one/two-handed (if held with a shield (one-handed), (two-handed if not with shield). Can be used to hook onto a high up surface and zip to it. Uses Valos however. Can also be used as a long range one hit whip. With no Valos, it just whips, with valos it also electrocutes and does more individual hits. Doesn't have the 3 hit combo but has a long range. Character animation: Character: Red & black armoured character. Looks slightly reptilian. Has a tail. Red & black colour scheme. Mostly red. Might change some of the black colour to the colour of current weapons (green if using the sword) Stands two-legged. Walks on two legs Sprint with head down and forward, slightly Ninja-like. Once the player has unlocked the ability to swim through walls the sprint becomes the character swimming up and down out of the ground (this can be changed back to the normal sprint in the settings). Also will revert to normal sprint if the character is running on terrain he can't pass through (metal). Idle animation: Pulls out a different weapon and inspects it.
